Bio
I became a Life and Executive Coach because it allows me to bring all parts of myself to my work helping people change their lives -- both at work and beyond work.
As a social worker and psychotherapist, I learned to listen to the deeper messages about what people want for their lives. As an Employee Assistance consultant, I learned where to find the resources people need to make their lives work better. I learned what senior managers and executives need to succeed with their employees.
As a specialist in traumatic stress, I learned about the incredible strength, resourcefulness and resilience of people as they face life's greatest challenges.
As a wife and mother, I learned the value of humor and perspective in building a family and intimate relationships. Now, as a life coach, my great joy is to inspire people to move beyond the barriers that have held them back.
I love working with people in transition: people feeling stale in their jobs and looking for something new; women whose children are growing up and who finally have time to focus on themselves; people beginning to raise a family and trying to figure out how to balance everything; people adjusting to being in a committed partnership and people adjusting to being newly single.
To increase my effectiveness I've been certified to administer the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and The Leadership Circle 360 Profile(TM). I received my coach training through Coaches Training Institute (CTI), one of the largest and most respected coach training organizations nationwide. I currently hold the PCC certification through the International Coach Federation (ICF) and have been elected President of the Metro DC Chapter of the ICF for 2008.
